Jools Holland shows the value of live music on television
One of my favorite shows on television is Later… with Jools Holland on BBC. And there is of course a major reason for it: the musicians are really playing their instruments. It adds undeniable value to the moving image.
Seeing adults miming to their own records seems a bit embarrassing. (Although I realize the harsh realities of life.)

Incidentally, I can look back on my meeting with Robert Plant in the mid-1980s, but that’s another story.
